I love God, he moves in mysterious ways - must be a groovy dancer.
From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it.
Matthew 11
'Just a little something to break the monotony...'
Consider yourself to be alternative? How about selling all you have and sharing your income with a group of disciples, and all to follow a God the world screams doesn't exist? I've decided to make it personal, all my life is to live giving to others. It's because of Jesus. What you read here is just a taster...

Piers once said that you can tell a true disciple because when you shut the door in their face, they climb in through the window...
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm.
ReplyDeleteNot you Abi - though I suppose it might apply!
ReplyDeleteYeah - I'm just thinking that it's all about your prejudices/perception of people...
ReplyDeleteTrue. But one of the people I was thinking about I love very deeply.
ReplyDeleteAbi & Tschaka
ReplyDeleteprobably more like when a customer walks into a shop the Salesman very quickly decides in his own mind how likely that customer is to buy. Some people who visit White Stone may look like they are just browsing and yet they buy into Christianity, others look like serious buyers and turn out not to be. Just goes to show that everyone is a potential buyer!

Sorry, I shouldn't have left you guessing, one person has been around a long time and the other hasn't. It's just good news for me.
ReplyDeleteJames, that's a cool quote, thanks....
ReplyDeleteHello! I've been wanting to join in with the debate for a while but haven't got round to it...AAnyway, I constantly find it amazing that I've been allowed into the kingdom...doesn't anyone else?
ReplyDeleteNah mate, God well loves me, corse he wants me in his kingdom! Plus, He knows I wanna be there too... and then there's Jesus so it's right that I'm allowed in aint it?
ReplyDeleteAnd DJ - nice analogy, I just don't think you need to go via the shop to get something from the saleman...
change of subject for a minute... wouldnt it be funny if Gods dance was like Dave Newhearts at promise one time im told it was funny! just imaging God dancing its funny isnt it how there are so many things that we cant imaging God doing like mabey stretch or itcing his back... i suppose its because we have never known a need to think of God doing thease things and he might not ani way...
ReplyDeleteIt may be comforting to think of God scratching his back, but I thinks it's rather arrogant of human beings to construct God as an image of themselves. Surely God is a spirit, a force, and beyond the understanding of our minds; so perhaps he has allowed you to see him in these dimensions. Don't you believe that one day you will see him as he is and understand all things? For now your intellect is limited in its perception.

....so I guess that throws whats said in the bible out with the babies bathwater does it.....was sure it said that 'god' made man in HIS image..!! So if 'god' didn't make man in his image then what?
; ) The TJ
ps, keep wanting to say something about doors and windows here too but can't find the exact phrase I'm after.
Depends on how you interpret it. If God is a spirit, ie without a physical form, then could it be the image man is made in is of the spirit type, not physical. Just because people have interpreted it one way for thousand's of years does not make it right. My comments are not intended to shake your faith in the veracity of the bible.
ReplyDeletedont need to inturpreate it any way thatys what it says in the bible! there is no way to miss inturpeate it!
ReplyDeleteI think God is big enough to cope with our little ideas of how he looks or behaves...
ReplyDeleteAbi,
ReplyDeleteVery witty.
DJ
im sure he is ok to deal with it! abi seeming to saty the rite thing lots lately! abs i think your great n miss u n stuff. oooh how was wednesday fun? or is that not the word?
ReplyDeleteYou are judged by the company you keep. Your keeping company with the bullies and allow bullies to attack vunerable people. Shsme on
ReplyDeleteyou !
Bethan, of course you have to interpret the Bible. It was not written in modern English but ancient languages which can often be translated in a number of ways. Moreover, the cultural context of literature at the time must be taken into account. Even now the languages of the Middle East are tremendously allegorical, which is why the Qur’an cannot be taken literally.
ReplyDeleteGod became a man in the person of Jesus. He surely danced and scratched and everything else we do. He was a real man not just a spirit and he came to show us what God is like.
ReplyDeleteWe are talking about when God made man not about God made manifest in Jesus who undoubtedly was in human form
ReplyDeleteel viejo,I do think we do have to consider the cultural times that much of the bible was written in.Things where so different then wheren't they?.I'm sure 'god' intended us to move with the times!
ReplyDeleteBut on the made in 'gods'image thing...guess all will interpurt as they will, does it really matter?
God says we are made in his image, fullstop!
You can tell a true disciple from the numbers of words they spout the fewer the truer in my humble opinion. Those who set up bloggs are just attention seeking fame and glory types. I'd wish they would just pray quitely and leave us Northamton folk to go about our daily business with out the fear of being bullied by the God mob rabble.
ReplyDeleteThanks. If you read the side panel of my blog you'll see I'm from Coventry not Northampton. But it's my perogative to talk about my life if I want to. I love it and want to celebrate it.
ReplyDeleteAmen Tschaka... Keep it up... It's good.
ReplyDeletemaybe our ananymous friend should sign themself 'most humble one'...bcjl
